It’s not too late to register for the OLA Annual General Meeting BUT we’d like you to let us know you’re coming by April 8. To register for the meeting and be counted for lunch, please contact Donna Burns at 613-432-4352 or by email at donnaburns1@bell.net.
This is an opportunity to connect in-person with other Landowners and share information about property rights in Ontario. There is a lot going on right now that affects our private property rights, like the Cowichan decision in British Columbia and the Musqueam settlement by the federal government.
Another serious issue is the $90 billion Alto High-Speed Rail project which threatens property owners along the proposed corridor with new expropriation rules, designed to dimmish your rights. If you are wondering where the HSR could potentially go, see the new citizen-built map at https://highspeedrailmap.ca/. for more information, visit the OLA’s Forum Topic on High-Speed Rail and the New Expropriation Act at https://ontariolandowners.ca/community/land-use-zoning/high-speed-rail-system-and-new-expropriation-act/ for a Cole’s notes of what’s been happening since mid-January.
