Fundraiser for David White

Many of you will be familiar with the difficulties that arise from dealing with your local municipality to get a municipal drain maintained. One such story comes to us from the Niagara Region. David White is seeking financial support to continue a decade-long battle against the Town of Fort Erie and the City of Niagara Falls. White is suing both municipalities as they have allowed the St. John Marsh Municipal Drain to go out of repair. As a result of the poor state of repair of the municipal drain, one third of his farm is regularly under water. From time to time, even the road he lives on, Willow Road, has to be closed due to the flooding.

Attempting to alleviate the flooding put White in trouble under the Conservation Authorities Act. But the flooding problem seems to stem from a reluctance of two municipalities to work together to resolve issues with the St. John March Municipal Drain.

White is seeking financial support through GoFundMe so he can continue his battle to alleviate the flooding on his property.

Please read his story here https://www.gofundme.com/f/david-white-during-his-legal-battle-for-flooding-of-his-farm and contribute if you can.

White is now 12 years into this litigation and has spent approximately $400,000 to fund it. As a retired operating engineer, he has had to resort to selling his personal belongings, using all of his pension money and to selling his two-acre retirement lot to make ends meet. The litigation continues. So does the flooding. Any financial relief that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
