Throughout Ontario certain Municipalities are in the process of implementing or have implemented Camping, Trailer, and Tent License By-Laws placing restrictions on private property and private persons. There is nothing in the Municipal Act that authorizes a Municipal Council to enact these demands for licenses or permits for a person to have a trailer, tent or to camp on their privately owned property.
