Supporting the Magna Carta Documentary by Tom Black

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who gave money to help with the production of the documentary on the Magna Carta by Professor John Robson of SunMedia fame. He budgeted for 75 thousand dollars to do the project and with the help of the Landowners and many other people who know the historical value of this document, he was able to reach that goal. It is the 800th anniversary of the creation of this document, which is one of the most important cornerstones in the foundation of the rights and freedoms we have been handed down from the British Empire to the countries that they colonized.

The western world civilization has been the benefactor of this hard fought for agreement and because of it, have profited by the wealth of individual personal rights and freedoms that allowed entrepreneurial individuals to create wealth for their countries and their families. This new documentary will be available to view by our county groups and some individuals who donated on their own. Our hope is that it will help people get a sense of how close we are connected to our history and how those important struggles by so many who sacrificed so much, gave us the base for a system of government that would always put individuals above the common good. We hope that those individuals who accept the role of ‘service’ in our government bodies will be inspired to rise above their station and stand up to those who would scuttle such an honourable trust that they have been handed.

On another note, I am happy to announce that on Saturday, March 28, 2015, a group of landowners attended a meeting in Burlington that had been organized by Joan Olech and Don Johnson to start up a new landowner group. Liz Marshall and MPP Jack MacLaren spoke to a crowd of over 100 people on the history of the OLA and the many issues that the OLA has been working on as we attempt to improve the lot of those who find themselves in a struggle with a government agency of some sort that has forgotten that individual rights are paramount in this country and are what sets us apart from other countries in the world where life has no value. The group signed up a good number of members and created an interim board until they can hold elections. I would like to welcome them on board and look forward to working with them to create a better Ontario.
